Sorachi Ace Single Hop IPA: Limited Release by Hermitage Brewing

San Jose, CA (August 1 2012) – Hermitage Brewing Company presents its latest Single Hop Series IPA release with Sorachi Ace: a Japanese hop known for its characteristic citrusy lemon flavor. The Single Hop Series was developed by Hermitage to exhibit the diversity in hops. “This is a great series for both beer aficionados and novice beer drinkers,” comments Brewer Greg Filippi. “It gives the drinker an appreciation of each hop type. They can really pick out the individual flavors in other beers once they taste the hop on its own.”

Sorachi Ace is the third release of the series this year, following Ahtanum and Citra. Brewmaster Peter Licht is excited about the latest batch. Licht says,

Sorachi is an extremely interesting hop- lots of unusual fruit flavors including lemon and lemon zest. It is also the only hop to come from Japan. One of the reasons we started the single hop beer series was to get to use exotic hops like Sorachi Ace.

Hermitage Brewing gained notoriety with its previous Single Hop IPA releases. Single Hop Citra IPA was awarded a gold medal at the 2012 California State Fair and a rating of “excellent” from Celebrator Beer News. A silver medal was awarded to Ahtanum Single Hop IPA at the 2012 California State Fair. Sorachi Ace will be bottled August 3, 2012 for immediate distribution.
