Xocai is made from unprocessed cocoa and they therefore retain more natural antioxidant properties. The cocoa is combined with freeze-dried acai berry and blueberry and is sweetened with raw cane juice crystals.

Xocai has earned the name "healthy chocolate" mainly because of what is not in it – waxes, fillers and refined sugars – as well as the natural goodness that is retained through their patented cold pressing method.

All Xocai healthy chocolate products contain rich, dark Belgian chocolate, contain a high percentage of pure non-alkalized cocoa, and have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Many of the products are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Every Xocai product lists its ORAC values on the packaging. The ORAC value is the product's individual antioxidant capabilities and these values are certified by Brunswick Labs.

Xocai products are produced by the MXI Corp – Marketing Xocolatl International. Xocolatl is the Aztec spelling of what later became “chocolate”. MXI continues to research the science behind the health benefits of dark chocolate and will be expanding their product line in the years to come.

All healthy chocolate products contain 100% ethically traded cocoa that has been purchased from small, family-owned and operated farms on the Ivory Coast. Farmers are provided with fair wages and humane working conditions. No pesticides are used in the harvesting of cacao beans and harvesting is sustainable forest farmland growth.

The acai berries are purchased from co-op farms and are harvested by local communities from wild, uncultivated areas that are protected by the rainforest canopy. They are freeze-dried for optimal antioxidant retention.
